Makes & Partners has acted in some of Indonesia's largest and most complex
loan syndication and debt restructurings. We routinely advise our corporate
and commercial bank clients on their borrowings and related matters such as
the granting of security interests. For debt restructurings, the Firm has
acted in numerous privately negotiated deals for a total amount of
approximately US$5 billion on behalf of Indonesian borrowers as well as
creditors and banks.
Notable transactions include acting for a leading public listed private
commercial bank, in its proposed debt Rp 690 billion Paris Club Debt
Redemption Facility with the Government of Indonesia. In 2003 and 2004,
Makes & Partners advised a public industrial property company in its debt
restructuring and follow on quasi reorganization, which was the first quasi
reorganization conducted in accordance with Bapepam's Regulation No.
IX.L.1, dated 13 April 2004 concerning Procedures for Conducting Quasi
Reorganization.
